4 Layer Candy Bars 

Approximately 80 pieces

 

See if these remind you of Snicker bars, only better!

 

Base layer:

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/4 cup butterscotch chips

1/4 cup peanut butter

 

Second layer:

1/4 cup butter

1 cup sugar

1/4 cup cream or half & half

1 1/2 cups marshmallow creme

1/4 cup peanut butter

1 tsp. vanilla

1 1/2 cups roasted salted peanuts, coarsely chopped

 

Third layer:

1—14oz. caramels

1/4 cup cream or half & half

 

Top layer:

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/4 cup butterscotch chips

1/4 cup peanut butter

 

Grease a 9 X 13 pan. Combine the base layer in the top of a double boiler. Stir chips ad peanut butter over low heat until melted and smooth. Spread into your prepared pan. Refrigerate until set.

 

Second layer: Melt the butter in a heavy saucepan over medium heat. Add the sugar and cream bringing to a boil. Boil, stirring constantly for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the marshmallow creme, peanut butter and vanilla until smooth. Stir in the peanuts. Spread over the first layer. Refrigerate until set.

 

Third layer: Combine the caramels and cream in a saucepan and stir over low heat until melted and smooth. Spread over the peanut layer. Refrigerate until set.

 

Top: Combine the chips and peanut butter in the top of a double boiler. Stir over low heat until melted and smooth. Spread over the caramel layer. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Cut into one-inch squares.
