Best Brine EVER!*

 

4 quarts cold water

1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar

3/4 cup sea salt

1 cup maple syrup

1 cup apple cider vinegar

24 fresh sage leaves

6 bay leaves

2 Tbsp. ground yellow mustard

2 Tbsp. coarsely ground pepper

1 tsp. ground cloves

 

Mix all together in a large bowl until the salt is dissolved. Add your turkey or other poultry and let brine 24-48 hours. 

 

*If you are using this for smaller birds, like chicken, you’ll want to cut the recipe in half.
