Maple-Glazed Oatmeal Scones

Makes 12

 

1 1/2 cups flour*

1 1/4 cup rolled oats*

1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp. baking soda

1/4 tsp. salt

1/2 cup pecans, toasted and chopped

1/2 cup butter at room temperature, cut into pieces

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup maple syrup

1 egg

 

Glaze: 1/2 cup powdered sugar

           3 Tbsp. maple syrup

           1-2 Tbsp. water

 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and pecans. Blend butter, cream, maple syrup and egg. Add to combined dry ingredients. Drop by heaping Tablespoons onto greased baking sheet. Bake 25-30 minutes.

 

Cool 30 minutes before glazing. 

 

*For gluten-free: Substitute Bob’s Red Mill one-to-one flour, gluten-free oats and 1 tsp. xantham gum
